Book Review: Basic Counselling Skills by Ken Kelly

I purchased this book after hearing about it on a very popular podcast for counselling trainees: Counselling Tutor. The author of this book is one of the founders of the website and podcast.

This book does what it says on the tin, it’s a basic explanation of each of the counselling skills you will learn on your journey to becoming a qualified counsellor.

This book is a layman’s type book with examples how each of the skills would look in a session. I would recommend this book for trainees for the practice side of counselling. However, I wouldn’t recommend this for detailed information for academic assignments or knowledge therefore this is why I am giving it the following:

4/5
