Book Review: Mindfulness Series By Mark Williams, Vidyamala Burch and Danny Penman

Many moons ago I did an 8 week mindfulness course based on this book. The book includes a CD of guided mindfulness meditations.


This book is set out in a 8 week course of how to practice mindfulness and how to implement it into your daily routine.


The first three chapters introduce mindfulness and explains thought processes that may lead to anxiety and depression. Be sure to read about the proven scientific benefits that Mindfulness- Based Cognitive Therapy has.


The rest of the chapters are the week by week course on how to implement mindfulness into your life.


Each chapter has mindfulness exercises to implement into your week with step by step instructions. These practices are also included in the tracks included on the CD.


This book is an easy read and even easier with the guided meditations included on the CD. By following the 8 week course, it is a easy way to take note of how you are feeling during the day which can affect your mood.


I would recommend this this book to both therapists and clients. Everyone can implement mindfulness practices into their life in a way which suits their lifestyle.
